How do you protect yourself against H1N1 flu virus?
The number of confirmed A H1N1cases here in the Philippines has now gone up to 46 according to the news last night. It's quite alarming although I'm not that scared.
I posted a question three days ago and got some sensible response. And today, the boss sent an email telling that the rumors concerning employees having the virus is not true. Thank God. I have a coworker who is currently exhibiting few symptoms but I hope the results would show negative.
DOs:
Avoid close contact.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick. When you are sick, keep your distance from others to protect them from getting sick too.
Cover your mouth and nose.
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. It may prevent those around you from getting sick.
Clean your hands.
Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
Practice other good health habits.
Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.See a doctor.
If you are not feeling well and experiencing symptoms of any illness, contact your physician.

I keep eating pork. I figured if I eat enough pork, I'll become immune to the swine flu.
Oops. I meant H1N1. Ignore everything that I previously stated. ;D
Those are some good things to follow......
I was talking to a friend yesterday and he explained everything about H1N1 to me. Like you, I'm not so scared anymore.
I try to catch every contagious flu I can so I will get the antibodies. That is my protection.
@herzog3000 - haha
If you know anyone who previously went to Mexico, or is in close contact to someone who just vacationed to Mexico......Stay away from them as they could have caught the virus. But other then that this should pass like SARS did...
